Penis Panic: Imagined Belief, Real Consequences
Oftentimes, a well-chiseled, handsome guy is referred to as an Adonis. However, depictions of Adonis, like many other mythic figures of ancient Greece and Rome, almost always fall short in one important physical area,
the penis.
Whereas, in modern days, many people admire the man with the large phallus, it’s doubtful the question of “is he well-hung?” ever came up in ancient times.
Historians have a few theories for why this is so. At the time, it was generally accepted that an uncircumcised small penis was desirable in a man and a large circumcised penis was considered comical. Also, the Greeks
had an admiration of the underdeveloped body, which could have influenced their art.
Sizing up the Penis Situation
Modern man has an undeniable preoccupation with penis size. However, it’s doubtful that many men have explored methods for actually measuring the penis.
There is a methodology, to measuring the penis, just as there is to measuring other appendages of the human body. The difference is when determining phallic dimensions the penis must be fully erect.
Once an erection is achieved, the penis is then held parallel to the floor and measured horizontally along the top from base to tip.
An acceptable measure of penis girth is attained by wrapping a tape measure around either the base, just behind the penile head, or at a point where the shaft is thickest.
